PDN Map

A map of the Power Distribution Network (PDN) is being progressively added to the knowledge base, with deck two just completed.

It's a big job - there are over 60 PDN nodes on deck two alone.

The overall deck guide provides cross-section of the ship provides a view of inter-deck connections, while each deck has its own guide showing the location of each PDN node. Node interconnections are also shown schematically - but unlike nodes, these don't accurately indicate the actual position of conduits. The map is available via the PDN deck guide pages, which also has a list of all nodes on that deck. Clicking a node provides more detail.

Check out Deck 2

The PDN attachment at the bottom of each deck plan page provides the best map view as the PDF can be zoomed in. These maps indicate direction of power flow using gradients - power flows along the conduit lines from blue to green.

The map will be used to configure PDN console panels, which will provide schematic maps of the PDN based on system function. These consoles will be used to manage power routing and distribution.

PFA Update

Peak Frequency Analysis (PFA) notes have been updated to clarify what range on the proximity grid means.

Actually, it varies depending on context. For directional EM such as weapons, scans and directional comms, proximity gird range indicates how closely the EM was targeted at your vessel (the notes include visual examples).

For non-directional EM like broadcast comms or typical astronomical EM obviously no assessment of targeting is possible. Instead, in this context proximity grid range indicates the estimate range of the source (again the notes illustrate examples).

The training video will be updated shortly to include this guidance.

We're looking at updates to the console panel to highlight which type of indication is in effect.
