The Hunt

This mission scenario provides experience with the management of a vessel's Tactical Operating Environment (TOE). 

Two starships are given orders that have conflicting requirements within the same star system. The exact orders may vary, but typically one vessel will be required to protect a planet or prevent intrusion, while the other vessel will be required to intervene in some way.

Sample orders for one vessel might be:

Intelligence suggests an adversary force has located an artificially constructed outpost on P3M-F53T and has scientific teams on site, protected by a starship patrolling within the star system.

Your orders are to capture any adversary planetside units, secure the outpost site and deploy scientific teams there as soon as is safe. The adversary starship is to be neutralised and must not be allowed to leave the system to report on this action.

While the other vessel's orders might be:

A scientific team has been landed on P3M-F53T and is analysing an abandoned alien outpost, protected by a marine unit. The starship which made the discovery and landed the team has developed serious operational issues and must return to base for repairs.

You are to travel to the F53T system with utmost dispatch and relieve the starship. You are to intercept and neutralise any adversary vessel attempting to approach P3M-F53T in order to protect the planetside teams and prevent intelligence regarding their discovery being communicated.

Mission Goal

The first vessel to secure an EMDAR track of the other vessel wins the scenario.

Who should take part

This mission scenario provides EMDAR specialists with practical experience locating another vessel under mission conditions.

It also provides a tactical officer (on Conn) with the opportunity to coordinate EMDAR and helm to optimise the search. The officer must interpret the data provided by EMDAR and extrapolate the adversary's position and intentions.
