The first 3D models of Endeavour have been released, providing insights into the thinking of the Naval Architecture team.

Endeavour will have overall length of just under 300 metres and a mast-to-mast height of 150 metres. Only the core hull will be habitable (the dark areas on the model excluding the drive cowling), providing room for 8-10 decks. The superstructure is largely uninhabitable, providing space for sensor/electronic warfare equipment, sensor drones and probe support, and other ancillaries.

The overall design is intended to minimise how much surface area is exposed to the sensors and weapons of other ships, assuming the captain can keep potential adversaries ahead of the ship (facing 'front-on'). This maximises the effectiveness of weapons and armoring as well as protecting the vulnerable engine output aft.

These basic 3D sketches don't yet contain a lot of detail as they're intended for designers to refine superstructure and equipment placement.

Check out more detail and sketches at the original post in the Vessel Development Group.

The model has made a pretty good transiton from the concept sketches.

If the habitable areas are only the darker core, what's the large area below the upper mast? The shuttle bay, perhaps?

Close! The upper superstructure area houses the near-range sensor drones used for EMDAR (especially providing EMDAR coverage aft of the ship, where engine wash makes ship-mounted sensors unusable). The sensors can also be used for surveying the ship for damage, etc.
