A demonstration video of a training evolution has been added to the site, the first of a range of training videos that are planned.

The video was shot in the recently completed simulation facility and combines hands-on footage of helm console operation with output from the Tactical Operating Environment (TOE) grid.

We’d value feedback on how helpful the video was and anything you’d like to see included in future training videos. This video doesn’t include a voiceover, for example, although one could be added if it was useful. Let us know in the comments!

The next videos planned will include recorded training seminars and coverage of competitive hunt/kill sims.

Video looks great, good quality, zooming onto parts of the panel really helped.

It could use with a voiceover I think though? (Had no sound when I watched it, could be a bug on my end).

I am keen for the hunt/kill sim videos!

...there was no audio added. But we can add a voiceover if it helps!

I have no navigational experience - which would be true for a lot of prospective players - and a lot of this just went over my head. Basic impression is it looks high quality and complex but I don't if it's good or I want to do it myself. Those last two are important in terms of capturing interest.

The video you've shot looks great but there's a bunch of terms I don't know in that and the page. I can sometimes intuit their meaning from the context but not always and even then I'm not totally sure. I assume the video follows the Evolution Plan but I'd have to pause and scroll down / up a lot to try to follow it and make more sense of it.

For the purpose of training and also maybe PR I wonder if instead of a single video, this might be better broken into multiple videos included in / alongside the Evolution Plan with detailed text explaining what's happening.

The video wasn't intended to stand alone - its part of a training program which will include a seminar explaining the skills and terminology covered by the evolution prior to undertaking it.

I posted the video to get some feedback on the format - but I understand that could be hard if the content isn't understandable.

The good news is the first of the training seminars for impulse navigation should be sometime in the next week.
